Make sure to register at your GP

Make sure you register at your GP surgery as soon as you can after arriving at your hall.

It is very important you do this as soon as possible and do not wait until you are feeling unwell.

Some GP surgeries can take over 7 days for you to become a registered patient and you are unable to make any appointments before then.

Some students will have to self-isolate when they arrive at halls, having travelled from a country which is outside the UK’s travel corridors. We advise these students to still take a look at the information about their local GP so they know where to register as soon as they are able to do so. It is advisable to take a look at what medication you may want to purchase ahead of registering at the GP and before completing your self-isolation such as paracetamol. You can buy medication via the NHS online pharmacy.
