The Students’ Union
The Students’ Union is run by students for students. We are here to enhance your experience at university.
We will be here encouraging you to get involved in things you enjoy, meet new friends, represent your peers and campaign for the causes you care about most.
We have five full-time Presidents and a range of part-time Officers that you’ll get to vote for every year during The Students’ Union elections.
If you can’t find a society that suits you, we’ll help you make one!
Our Advice Centre is on hand to provide free, friendly and non-judgemental advice. It’s independent of UWE Bristol and offers support on academic, housing, personal or financial issues. We also have lots of volunteering opportunities to help you bolster your CV and job opportunities in and around Bristol that we advertise on our JobShop and we even have a nursery on Frenchay Campus for the children of students, staff and the local community.
If you are passionate about a social issue or cause, we have a range of campaigns or student groups that you can get involved with, such as The Green Team or Women’s History Month. Campaigns at The Students' Union support and fight for the rights of underrepresented groups including Ethnically Diverse Communities, Disabled, LGBT+, Trans, and Women students, as well as advocating for mental health and wellbeing of students at UWE Bristol. Contact SUCommunity@uwe.ac.uk to get involved.
If you want to drive change on your course or around campus, you can represent the student voice by becoming one of our 1,000 Student Reps, or create a Student Idea for your peers to vote on, then we work on making it a reality.
Food, drinks and the essentials
Forgotten lunch? Fancy a drink? Need a hit of caffeine before a lecture? The Students’ Union has a shop on each campus where you can grab a meal deal and get your daily essentials. Zero waste sections can be found at Bower Ashton and Frenchay.
We’ve also got Union 2 at Frenchay and an eatery at Glenside, which are both great, if you’re looking for an event or want to grab some food and drinks.
Whether you want to study, borrow a games or sports activity pack, book space for an event, or just meet your mates for a game of ping pong, you can do all of this and more at The Students’ Union. Ask at your campus Union reception to find out more.
If you are keen to find out more about our events, or want to know all the great things that you can get involved in through The Students’ Union, make sure you follow us on social media. We’re on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter, so give us a follow @TheSUatUWE.
