Recycle with these high street brands!
Over the past few years, more and more brands are doing their bit to become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint.
There are some high street brands that are even encouraging us to recycle with them, we've picked out some of our favourites below.
& Other Stories
& Other Stories, the popular high street brand, has a great campaign in place that will make you sort through your wardrobe ASAP. They are offering a 10% off voucher in return for your pre-loved clothes, textiles, and beauty packaging at any of its stores - what's not to love?!
H&M
Similarly to & Other Stories, H&M has a Garment Collecting programme which launched in 2013 where you can bring your bag of textiles in exchange for a voucher off your next purchase. If you're wondering what H&M does with your unwanted belongings, they sort them into 3 categories which then determines what happens to them next...
Rewear: Wearable clothes are marketed as second-hand clothing.
Re-use: If the clothes or textiles are not suitable for rewear they're turned into other products, such as remake collections or cleaning cloths.
Recycle: All other clothes and textiles are shredded into textile fibers and used to make insulation materials for example.
Apple
Sorry for those Android lovers out there, this one is for the Apples. Apple offers a Trade-in service, where you can take in your eligible gadget in-store and they will give you credit off your next purchase. If you aren't eligible Apple offer to recycle your device for free anyway- win-win!
Hunter
Everyone went through a stage of owning a pair of Hunter wellington boots, you name them, they had them. If you've still got yours you can return your wellies, free of charge in exchange for a 15% discount code. Wonder how Hunter recycles your wellies? They are processed, shredded, and made into playground surfacing, roads, and a whole host of other upcycled materials!
MAC
You may already know of the recycling scheme at MAC, but if you don't their Back to MAC scheme enables you to return 6 of their products' packaging in return for a free MAC lipstick of your choice. You best go find all those leftover MAC lipsticks hiding at the bottom of your drawer now!
Schuh
If you're in need of a shoe refresh, why not take back an old pair to Schuh and receive a £5 voucher off a new pair? The more shoes you take back the more vouchers you'll get, either redeem it online or in-store, this is definitely a great incentive to recycle your old shoes!
These are great incentives to keep in mind when you next go to chuck out your old clothes and shoes!
