Jalapeno Poppers Recipe

Serves 5


10 fresh jalapeños
100g cream cheese
Pinch garlic powder
Pinch onion powder
Pinch ground cumin
Juice of 1 lime
100ml buttermilk
100g plain flour
100g breadcrumbs


  • In a medium mixing bowl stir cream cheese, lime juice, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt & pepper
  • Cut tops off the jalapeños and stuff with cream cheese filling completely and smoothing the surface
  • Dip stuffed peppers into the buttermilk then coat completely in the flour then back into the buttermilk – Finish by coating in breadcrumbs
  • Fry for 1-2 minutes at 180C until golden brown
  • Serve with a squeeze of lime
