New experiences, new people and a new campus! There's a lot to take in when you first arrive at University.

So you can become familiar with your new home, here are some good-to-know areas to make use of during your time at The City.

The City Reception
Collect your post, borrow games consoles and DVDs, access support or get yourself a replacement key. Its open 24/7 so don't hesitate to pop by!

Sport
The Danielle Brown Sports Centre is based on the main campus with a gym, swimming pool, fitness classes, steam room and sauna. You can decide whether to become a member or just use certain facilities on a pay as you go basis. 

If you want to try out some new sports for free, make sure to look out for sports events on our calendars!

Social Spaces
Designed for you to spend time with your fellow students and relax after a long day of lectures, there are a few spaces to choose between:

  • Opal Court common room 
    Study areas, piano, TVs, sofas, table tennis, a pool table games consoles and vending machine
  • Nixon Court common rooms
    Comfy seating, TVs, Sky TV, board games, games consoles, a pool table and piano.
  • Music Rooms
    You can find a piano in the Nixon Court Common Room. Any student living in halls can book the music rooms. You can find them on the top floor of The Village Hub as well as in John Foster and Beaumont social spaces. All of the equipment can be used free of charge, just book a slot by contacting The Village Reception. They will also be able to help you if you need directions for travelling to Oadby.
