Smoking & E-Cigarettes

By ECollins 13 Jul 2016

All University Accommodation is non-smoking. Anyone who smokes must use the designated smoking areas. This includes the use of e-cigarettes.

This is because e-cigarettes, although the healthier alternative to smoking, still emit a vapour which can set off the fire alarm in your room... and we're sure you don't want to be landed with a fine for this!

However, anyone found smoking outside of the designated smoking area will be issued with

  • a first warning and a £30 fine
  • 2nd offence- £75, a final warning & you'll be asked to sign a behavioural contract
  • After that you'll be charged £75 each time you're caught or there is evidence of smoking within your room
