Do I need a TV Licence?

By bwoolley 06 Jul 2016

You'll need a TV Licence if you;

  • Have a TV in your room
  • Watch or record a live show on your smart TV, desktop computer, laptop, mobile pgone, tablet, digital box or games console
  • Download or watch BBC programmes on demand - including catch up TV- on BBC iPlayer (this applies to all the devices listed above)

Please note: If one of your flatmates has a TV licence for their room, this will cover a TV in the communal area.

A TV licence costs £145.50 per year, but you could be fined up to £1,000 or face prosecution if you do not have one.
