Lockdown Recipes: National Pizza Day
In honour of National Pizza Day, we've brought you the tastiest pizza recipes you can eat in the morning, noon, and night!
What could be better than mixing a traditional fry-up with a pizza? This recipe is the perfect reason to get out of bed in the morning.
Ingredients: Two cups plain white flour, 2 tsp baking powder, water, 4 eggs, smoked bacon, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, 2 pork sausages (optional)
- Mix flour, baking powder and water together in a bowl until you form a dough. Lightly dust the surface with flour and roll out the dough to your desired thickness and shape.
- Place the rolled pizza dough onto a prepared baking sheet and top with shredded cheese. Crack the 4 eggs into each corner of the pizza and arrange the bacon around the eggs before topping with tomatoes.
- Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes or until golden.
Go all out by adding chunks of pre-cooked sausages to get the real breakfast of champions!
Bring a touch of Spain to your pizza with some tasty tapas ingredients to top it off.
Ingredients: Two cups full of plain white flour, 2 tsps baking powder, water, passata sauce, chorizo (thinly sliced), mozzarella, roasted red peppers, red onion, thinly sliced
- Mix flour, baking powder and water together in a bowl until you form a dough. Lightly dust the surface with flour and roll out the dough to you desired thickness and shape
- Spread the passata sauce over the base and top with the chorizo, peppers, onion and mozzarella
- Put in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the base is golden and the cheese has melted
For extra toppings why not try: chicken, prawns or pancetta.
This may put you in a sugary coma but it will be totally worth it. Trade the floury dough for cookie dough to create your super sweet base.
Ingredients: Ready-prepared cookie dough, mini-marshmallows, 200g digestive biscuits, 50g chocolate chips, chocolate sauce
- Roll the cookie dough out and place into a lightly greased pizza size baking tray, flattening it to the edges
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until it begins to brown slightly
- Remove the dough from the oven and sprinkle it with chocolate chips, digestive biscuits and marshmallows
- Place it back into the oven for 5-8 minutes until the chocolate and marshmallows have begun to melt
- Leave it to cool slightly before topping with chocolate sauce
