Feng Shui your way to an A

By BzAimee 10 Jan 2017

The Chinese philosophy of Feng Shui revolves around the idea that everything (and everyone) has a certain energy, or 'chi'...

By learning how to channel and balance this chi, you can attract happiness, good luck and harmony into your life, just in time for exams - and definitely what we all need to kickstart our New Year!

So try these 10 Feng Shui-inspired fixes and transform your room with a few small touches...

  1. Clean up clutter
Get rid of rubbish, hang up clothes and clear up any surfaces. Don't have clutter by the bed, like bags, shoes - and the floordrobe, as these can block the flow of chi while you sleep.

  2. Yellow keeps you mellow....
Yellow is a symbol of positive energy. Keeping something yellow in your room for those long revision sessions will help you to feel positive, and more inclined to work productively!
  3. Add some life with a plant
Plants are said to help purify the air and are connected to the elements of wood and earth. Find out about the elements here.

    (Unfortunately, this plant doesn't count)
  4. White is alright
White brightens up any room, and it's also considered an assertive colour, meaning it's great to wear during exams to look and feel empowered to take on the world!
  5. Red is best
Red symbolises power and strength and boosts energy, so how about a red desk accessory? Or your lucky red pants?

  6. Organise yourself
Being disorganised creates negative energy, which making you feel unsettled. Plus, it's always a bonus to be able to find your revision notes...
  7. Put your phone down
Electronic energy signals mess up your chi and create stress, making it difficult to sleep.
  8. Find some motivation
Look at pictures of people who inspire you to feel more motivated. No, Mila Kunis and Chris Hemsworth do not count. How about someone slightly related to your course....Aspiring physicist?
  9. Can you fix it?
Is anything in your room broken? A photo frame? A door handle? A light bulb? Better get them sorted ASAP as these can promote bad luck. Plus a broken light fixture is hardly going to help you revise...
  10. Reflect positivity
Mirrors are important as they reflect light and re-circulate positive energy. They'll make your room feel bigger too!

Now you've got your chi sorted, you've got no more excuses for procrastinating!!

Good Luck!
