Want to be a PAL leader next academic year?

We're recruiting! And need students from a wide range of UWE Bristol degree programmes and from all campuses, so get involved.

What is Peer Assisted Learning (PAL)?

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leaders facilitate group-based study sessions and workshops for other students in order to:

  • Ease the transition into Higher Education
  • Adjust to University life
  • Improve study habits
  • Enhance academic or technical understanding
  • Develop the life skills of resilience
  • Connect with their peers

 

What are the benefits of being a PAL Leader?

By being a UWE PAL Leader, you will:

  • Help other students to help themselves.
  • Develop the soft skills employers look for e.g. leadership, interpersonal communication, time management.
  • Be equipped with mentoring and facilitation techniques.
  • Connect with other students and your course.
  • Get involved in internal and external networking events and conferences.
  • Engage with learning and development opportunities e.g. ILM Level 3 in Effective Mentoring.
  • Gain experience in using online learning platforms and digital tools.
  • Earn while you learn.
  • Have the opportunity to become a Senior PAL Leader the following year, mentoring a team of PAL Leaders.
