Megan Colbourne: The SU's Welsh Language Officer

By ELeyshon 25 Sep 2019

You might have heard that the Students' Union has its first ever Welsh Language Officer in its history! Your officer is Megan Colbourne, and she's enthusiastic and a breath of fresh air to everyone that she meets. She's also quite a remarkable netball player, as she played for and captained the GymGym's netball team (the Welsh language society). Hear Megan sharing her passion for the Welsh language, its culture and Welsh history, and offering opportunities for Welsh medium students:

"As Welsh Affairs Officer, my main role is to represent the Welsh students of the University, and ensuring that the Welsh language students receive the same opportunities as everyone else.
Throughout the year, my aim is to promote the use of the Welsh language across the campus, and to raise awareness of the culture of Wales; I'm eager to hold Welsh culture events throughout the year.
I will ensure that Welsh students receive the same resources and support as other students, offering the chance to develop language skills in every aspect of life within the University. "

Keep an eye out for more updates from Megan soon! In the meantime, here's how to learn more:
