If you are staying at Singleton residences during 2019-20, at some stage you will pop in to Preseli reception for a key, a parcel or some fruit and water during exam time. The office staff based at Preseli are there primarily for you, the students, ensuring that your stay with us is as smooth as possible. If you have a maintenance issue or aren’t sure where to go, pop into Preseli and the friendly bunch will be able to help you. So who are the team?
Jan has been at the University for 8 years and loves the variety of people that she meets during the working day as they range from students during term time to conference goers. Jan’s motto is “more chocolate is needed”, so you know what to get our Jan if you’ve been assisted a hundred times over by this ex Welsh-netball international. In her spare time, Jan loves following Formula 1.
“No two days are the same” says Juliet, describing why she enjoys her job at Preseli, which is a feat considering that she has spent 40 years working here. You may see Juliet on campus checking windows, assisting with room inspections and answering queries. During her spare time Juliet sings soprano in the University staff choir and is also a seasoned bell-ringer.
If you are unsure about anything to do with your residence that you can’t find the answer to, Terry will probably know or be able to find out for you. You might consider him to be the room inspector and mail deliverer, but within the Preseli office there are several thank you cards from students mentioning how he and the team added to their university experience.
Natasha checks everything from surrounding gardens to room specifications and fire exits. You won’t be hanging around for very long after reporting maintenance issues, thanks to Natasha and her team. Despite her busy schedule, she will always find the time to answer your questions.
There you have it, the Preseli team. They can’t be that busy during the summer then? Only turning around 500 rooms for various conferences!
They’d love you to drop by and say a little hello!
