Somehow, November wouldn’t be November in the UK without Children in Need. The usual spectacular array of stars will adorn our TV/ Laptops all in aid of Children that really need support.
Two projects in the Swansea area that have benefited from Children in Need funding are: The Play and Leisure opportunity group that supports disabled young children and the Roots Foundation that offer support for children in care to enhance their self-worth. These worthy charities are listed on the BBC website as part of all charities that are supported by the cause on the BBC website.
The Student Ambassadors will be hosting Children in Need fundraising events at the university. There will be the annual bake sale and a Children in Need Duck Race. There are 20 different ducks that students and staff can bet on, at the cost of £2. The winner will be revealed at 4pm on Friday the 15th of November!
If you’re at a loose end on November the 15th, the all star line-up includes Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who), who stars in a special ColdPlay version of ‘Yellow’. Several other songs are also covered by a host of stars such as David Tennant, Olivia Coleman, Adrian Leicester and Helena Bonham Carter – the list goes on, as well as a star guest appearance by Taylor Swift too. Presenters include Tess Daly, Rochele Humes, Marvin Humes, Ashley Roberts and Laura Whitmore.
