Celebrating Chinese New Year!

By glim 06 Feb 2018

Chinese New Year (or Spring Festival, or Lunar New Year) is on Friday 16th February this year.

2018, we celebrate the year of the Dog!

What Chinese zodiac animal am I?

Whether you're an international Chinese student studying in Swansea, or you don't know the first thing about the holiday, don't worry - here are ways you can celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival.

  1. The Waterfront
An annual event at The Waterfront Museum in Swansea.
Sunday 11th February, 11AM-4PM. FREE to all.
    More info.
  2. International@CampusLife
A trip to Birmingham on Sunday 18th February.
Leaving Fulton House at 8AM. £15 per ticket.
    Book your place.
  3. The Chinese Society
A trip to Cardiff with The Chinese Students and Scholars Association.
    Wednesday 21st February.

If you want to impress some of your Chinese friends, try learning these two popular greetings:

  • Xīn Nián Kuài Lè! 新年快乐! (Happy new year!)
  • Gōng XǐFā Cái! 恭喜发财! (Have a prosperous new year!)
