Pack away the suncream and short shorts (not that we used them much in the UK anyway) because Autumn is here - AND WE LOVE IT!
With nights getting longer, TV getting better and Pumpkin Spiced Lattes back in at Starbucks, how could we not?
- You'll never be bored.
There's always something on the telly! Whether it's Strictly, X Factor, the new series of The Apprentice or the hotly anticipated season 2 of Stranger Things on Netflix, you're spoilt for choice.
- Your winter wardrobe.
The return of the woolly scarves, cosy hats, onesies - just ALL the layers. We love them, and what's more? They're comfy and if you throw a hoody on, nobody knows whether you've still got your PJ top on underneath!
- Going to the park.
Leaves, everywhere! Dive into them, kick them at each other, throw them around. Admit it, these days it's more exciting than seeing your presents on Christmas morning. Plus, you can play conkers!
- Colder weather = hot drinks.
A hot chocolate before bed, a warm cider, mulled wine and please don't get me started on the Starbucks' and Costa seasonal menu. Oh. My. Word.
- The clocks go back.
Is there much better than an extra hour in bed to make you feel top notch for that 9am lecture? I think not! The clocks going back means it gets darker earlier so make sure you're staying safe and not walking around late by yourself.
- Staying in > going out.
Missing that Friday night out for a film, a hot chocolate and your big fur blanket is now completely acceptable. You can even get away with a few Xbox/PS4 nights in too if you like - Fifa 18 definitely hasn't got boring yet!
- Food, glorious food.
Whether it's hearty soups, steaming stews or chocolate puddings with hot fudge sauce or dreamy custard, autumn dishes are divine and never get boring. You're never too old for a toffee apple or a bonfire lolly either!
For all of you who love to dress up, are into your art and all things creative or just looking for an excuse to party. Even if you aren't the biggest fan just give it a go and you'll enjoy it more. Pumpkins at the ready!
- Museums at Night.
From Thursday 26th to Saturday 28th October, some of the UK's best-loved museums and galleries invite you to explore them at night for cheaper entry or even free! A lot of them are Halloween themed too. To see what's happening in your area, check out their website.
- Countdown to Christmas.
Save the best till last! Yes, it is now officially acceptable to start putting together that list for Santa and tucking into those mince pies. If you're friends with the people still mourning the loss of summer, get some Christmas spirit into them.
Don't forget: Change your clock back on Sunday so you don't show up an hour early for your lecture wondering where everyone else is. Make the most of the extra hour in bed!
