You may be leaving them for a couple of weeks to spend Christmas with your actual family, or maybe you're staying in Sheffield whilst they head home...
Whatever your plans for the festive season, why not take part in all of the Christmas traditions with your flat/house family too?
Here are just a few simple ways you can get into the festive spirit:
- Secret Santa
We know it's expensive getting all your flatmates a present so set a budget (around £10), draw names out of a hat and get shopping! Set a theme such as baked goods, or joke presents which will give you a good laugh when you open them.
- Christmas dinner
It doesn't have to cost much, but if you all chip in with the ingredients you can make a cracking meal on a low budget. Choose your meat, a few vegetables, roast potatoes and the Yorkshire's of course! Don't forget dessert!
- Family outing
Whether it's hitting up your local Christmas market, skating at the ice rink, or all going out to the cinema, spend some quality time together and get in the Christmas spirit.
- One last big night out
The remains of your loan are slowly fading away, but if you can afford it, hit your fave student night for one last time before the Christmas break. They'll probably have all the cheesy tunes on too for a group singalong at the end of the night.
- And one last big night in
Have a Christmas movie marathon, order some pizzas, bake together, or put on a Boxing Day-style buffet spread. Make sure you've got the Christmas playlist at the ready too!
