To help you meet other students and explore different cultures SHU GoGlobal have arranged loads of fun social activities and events throughout November.

Trip to Matlock

Saturday 2nd November 9am–5pm
Meet at the University main entrance, Owen Building, City Campus

Visit the picturesque Victorian town on the edge of the Peak District with the famous Heights of Abraham cable car attraction. Bring your camera to capture the beautiful scenery of Derwent Valley. We'll be taking public transport to this event which will be approximately £7 return. Book your place on UniHub.

GoGlobal Bonfire Celebrations

Tuesday 5th November 6pm–10pm
Meet at the University main entrance, Owen Building, City Campus

Join the spectacular bonfire celebrations in Sheffield with a huge bonfire, fireworks and live music. Buy your tickets in advance from the HUBS (Students' Union) or online here through the After Dark website. Click here to register your interest in attending the event.

Beatles free film screening - Yesterday

In anticipation of our trip to the Beatles Museum we are showing the 2019 blockbuster Yesterday. After a freak global blackout Jack Malik wakes up to discover that the Beatles never existed, he quickly becomes an overnight sensation with a little help from his friends. Book your place on UniHub.

Trip to Ladybower Reservoir

Explore some of the most stunning scenery in the UK on this trip to Ladybower Reservoir. We will be aking public transport so please bring approximately £6 for transport and a packed lunch. Cambridge is a University city of old streets, ancient colleges and lovely bridges spanning the River Cam. There are historic and contemporary buildings to visit, world renowned museums, fantastic theatres and live music. We'll be travelling by coach. Buy your tickets in advance for £18.

Trip to Bakewell Christmas Market

We have organised a trip to the delightful market town of Bakewell, a typical English village. We'll be taking the bus to Bakewell which is approximately £6 return - please pay on the day. Book your place online.

Join the chaplaincy from Sheffield Hallam University & the University of Sheffield as we are hosted by the Sikh community at their Gurdwara, which is called the Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Sikh Temple, in Darnall, Sheffield. Free transport or directions available. Book your place on UniHub.

Thursday 28th November 3pm–6pm

A guided tour of one of the most iconic football stadiums in the United Kingdom and home to Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. The tour is free, but you'll have to pay for the return tram (£4.20) to Hillsborough Stadium. Places are limited to 20, so sign up quick on UniHub.
