To help you meet other students and explore different cultures SHU GoGlobal have arranged loads of fun social activities and events throughout December.

Victorian Christmas Market

Sunday 1st December 10am–5pm
Kelham Island

Enjoy festive family entertainment and a warm Dickensian welcome at the 26th Victorian Christmas Market at Kelham Island. With over 130 market stalls including festive food, Christmas gifts, and locally made goods, you'll find everything from those perfect stocking fillers to that unique surprise gift. Free film screening - Elf

Wednesday 4th December 6pm–9pm

Trip to Lincoln Christmas Market

Saturday 7th December 8am–7pm
Meet at the University main entrance, Owen Building, City Campus

In partnership with the Languages Society GoGlobal have organised a trip to England's biggest Christmas market in the historic city of Lincoln. Buy your tickets in advance for £12. Book your place at the SHU online store.

The Big Christmas Quiz

Conversation Club - Christmas Special

Trip to Castleton

Saturday 14th December 9.30am–5pm

Join us for a wonderful trip to Castleton, one of the most picturesque villages in the Peak District. With caves, castles and the famous Blue John stone there is lots for you to explore. We'll take the bus there so please bring £7 for a return bus ticket. Click here to book your place.

University Christmas Carol Service

Tuesday 17th December 4.30am–5.30pm

The annual Christmas Carol service at Sheffield Hallam open to all staff and students. Free refreshments will be served, everybody welcome!

Free film screening - Love Actually

Traditional Christmas Day Meal (with a Caribbean twist!)

A very special event on Christmas Day as members of a local church cook a traditional dinner with a cCaribbean twist. A unique chance to experience Christmas Day in England with members of the local community. Open to all students at SHU but it's important to buy your tickets (£7) before 4pm on Wednesday 18th December! Book your place here.

Trip to Nottingham

Saturday 28th December 9.30am–5pm
Meet at the University main entrance, Owen Building, City Campus

Join us for a trip to the historic city of Nottingham, home of Robin Hood and the impressive Nottingham Castle. We'll also include a short trip by bus to Wollaton Hall, home of many Batman films. Train tickets cost approx £9 return with a railcard. Please also bring £4.20 for the bus fare to Wollaton Hall. Book your place online.
