Resolutions you might actually stick to...

By bzbeth 04 Jan 2018

Did you wake up on 1st January and think "I need to achieve some pretty amazing stuff this year"?

Well, we all know that New Year's resolutions aren't the easiest thing to stick to and that's why we want to help...

We've come up with some resolutions that might be a bit more realistic than ones you've set yourself before:

If you like spending time with your mates...

Why not try a new sport together? Depending on how many of you there is, you could start a 5-a-side team or if there's a lot of you, something like Ultimate Frisbee. Either way, you'll have a laugh!

If you're all about chilled, good vibes...

Why not try yoga or Tai Chi? This is one of the best things you can do to stay physically and mentally well. It will give you that bit of escapism from all your uni stresses (exams, money, homesickness etc).

If you like being creative...

Why not create a blog or YouTube channel? Put your creativity to good use and make something amazing! You could write/talk about the things you're interested in and share it with your mates or, you could blog with us?

If you're into fitness...

Why not set yourself a physical challenge? Use this opportunity to push yourself and achieve something you've not done before. How about a 10k run or a fun mud run? Maybe even a marathon, if you dare...

If you love animals...

Why not volunteer at Dogs Trust or RSPCA? This is one of the best resolutions on the list because you'd be doing something to make you happy and doing a good deed to help the cute dogs and cats. Who could say no to those faces?

If you find yourself with time on your hands...

Why not learn a skill that'll benefit you after uni? Having a degree is amazing, but having some little extras won't do any harm. You could learn a language or try to get some work experience because it'll all come in handy!

If you like going out on a Saturday night...

Why not join a dance club or society? Dancing is pretty good exercise so you'll burn some serious calories in a fun way rather than running on a treadmill for hours! There will be a few dance societies you could find on campus so now is the perfect chance.

Hopefully, you'll achieve everything you set out to do and if not, just tell yourself you did amazing anyway - good luck!
