Yasmin's Blog: Wrapping up warm for Winter

By Megan 14 Oct 2016

As the weather gets colder, it’s a sign that Winter Fashion Season has arrived!
It’s time to splurge on some warm and snuggly knit wears. With so many knit wears to choose from, it can be so overwhelming (I have this issue most of the time, trust me).

We all know tis the season to keep warm and comfortable. Simple and casual sweaters are the best things to get your hands on but why stop there?...

There are coats, cardigans, jackets and other knit wears available in stores. Some stores even have sales on these items to welcome the season. Grab one or two. Who am I kidding. Grab a bunch! But do not burn a hole in your wallet though (You gotta save up for Christmas!)

Now, what about styles? What is in and what is out? What is staying and what needs to go? This is the part which I anticipate the most each season. Looking back at The London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter ‘16, Vogue UK has rounded up the best trends to invest on this winter so let’s have a look at some for this season coming shall we...

  • Ruffles, Trimming and Oversized Jackets
Maybe not the right style for lectures but definitely great for an event or out with friends!
  • Velvet
This material is certainly an "in" thing right now and will definitely be on my shopping list.
  • Checked Pattern
You may have seen the black and white check pattern in every magazine and catwalk. I grabbed a great checked coat from Primark for half the price!

BUT, even with all the trends coming in, it is important to be you. Buy anything that looks good to you but remember keeping warm is key in these Winter months!

Look out for my next blog...there will be charity and second hand shops involved!

Enjoy your Winter clothes shopping!
