If you didn’t know, from the 17th until the 21st of February, the biggest and most anticipated UK’s fashion showcase took place. What am I talking about? London Fashion Week, of course!
This annual fashion week takes place twice a year showcasing fresh and creative new styles for the upcoming season. Designers gave a spectacular show that constantly inspire the way we see style. Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood – just to name a few of the designers that have put on a spectacular show. However, as overwhelmed as it is to fix your wardrobe for the season so you’ll look like one of the models on the runway (or maybe it is just me), let’s do a reality check - being a student, I don’t think it would be that class appropriate to rock out all those eye catching outfits and make ups, but all hopes aren’t lost.
Here are a few trends that anyone can wear:
- Colour block bright outerwear
Yes, leave all the dull autumn/winter colours and switch to a brighter bold colour like a bright blue duster or maybe a striking orange coat.
- Oversized knits
It is all about oversized these days. Opt for a baggy knitwear than your usual normal to crop ones. The bigger the better, this is where size matters.
- Oversized earrings
Another oversized theme that was seen was big, big earrings. Make a statement with big hoops or bulky earrings next season.
- The folklore blouse
This is something new and little daring for anyone to try. These blouses are exaggerated on their sleeves with lace-up detailing. Pair them with a good ol’ pair of jeans and you are good to go.
Has this ever been out of style? I wish it will never. So versatile and so classic. Pair a checked tartan skirt with a cute top for a classic retro look.
- Floral frock
Rock out a feminine floral frock for the next season. From embroideries to printed, pair them with a chunky footwear for some edge to the look.
Steal these ideas when you are thinking of changing your wardrobe for the upcoming season.
