Workout of the Month.....August!

Warm up:

Take five minutes of your day to warm up properly with a gentle cycle on the Bike. Try to keep the RPM +90 to get the blood pumping. Take another five minutes to do some dynamic stretches. Squats, Lunges, High Knees will do the trick.

 

Main Workout:

Try the following exercises in a circuit fashion, with absolutely minimum rest between exercises. Rest for 60 seconds at the end, then complete it two more times! By the end, you will have done 300 reps!

 

10 Press Ups

10 Squat Thrusts

10 Squats

10 Lunges – 5 each side

20 Jumping Jacks

10 Lunges – 5 each side

10 Squats

10 Squat Thrusts

10 Press Ups

(x3)

 

Catch your breath for a minute or two then tackle the ‘finisher’. Set the resistance to 10 and fill those lungs. Sir Steve Redgrave never won gold by taking it easy! Do the following:

 Rower – Row 250m as fast as possible, rest for 60 seconds, repeat x8

 Cool Down:

Time to relax. Take a seat back on the Bike and pedal at a nice comfortable pace. Spend 5 minutes reminding yourself that it wasn’t that bad, then follow with some static stretches. I’d recommend Glutes, Hamstrings and Quads, as we’ve hit them quite hard.
