Queen Margaret University is looking for students to join the STARS programme.
The STARS programme has been designed to provide new employment and training opportunities for QMU students including Event Management and IHTM students.
This new initiative to appoint Edinburgh’s brightest students as international tourism ambassadors was launched at Edinburgh Airport on Monday 1st June 2015. The project has expanded to Waverly Station (Virgin Trains) and Edinburgh St James in 2016. We expect that STARS will work at other locations in summer 2017. These locations include The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo as well as other tourist attractions and events.
Students will be selected to serve as official ambassadors in one or several of the locations. Students can join the team in May, August or September 2017. The duration of the appointments will vary depending on the site and needs of the partner organisation.
Part time and full time positions are available over the summer; hours will be negotiated with the recruitment team.
The students will greet clients and provide them with a warm welcome, information and signpost them in the right direction. STARS will also develop analytical skills to collect information from visitors.
This is a rolling recruitment, early application is advisable.
