Meet the Sports Staff.....Jamie
Name: Jamie Millar
Role: Leisure Assistant and Fitness Instructor.
Qualifications: BSc Hons in Nutrition, HNC in Health, Exercise and Wellbeing, Spinning Instructor.
Favourite activates: Basketball, Swimming, Running, Cycling, Rock climbing, Mountaineering, Kettlebells and Strength training.
From a young age I was discourage from sporting activates by doctors due to having dyspraxia. As a result this lead to an unhealthy lifestyle during my late teens and early adulthood. After experiencing many health problems I decided to enrol in college studying Health, Exercise and Wellbeing. It was here I realised my passion not only for health and exercise but also for sport. I continued with my academic studies here at Queen Margaret University where I took up basketball and enjoyed many years of success as a player and vice-captain for arguably one of the most successful sports teams in QMU history. After I graduated I took up a position here at the QMU sports centre where continue to develop my career in health, exercise and sport. My ultimate aspirations as part of my role here is pass on my wide range of skills and knowledge to those aspiring to improve their health and physical performance.
Key moto: Be persistent, be consistent, and always train smarter over harder.
