First Aid at Work

Are you looking to become qualified or thought about having any of your staff qualified with a recognised First Aid at Work qualification?

This 3 day course, based at Queen Margaret University in Musselburgh, covers a wide range of CPR and First Aid skills. It’s aimed at those who would like to become a qualified First Aider within their workplace, however it is also suitable for those who would like to learn lifesaving and first aid skills.  This is a practical course which is fully compliant with the guidelines set out by the HSE for employers on selecting a training provider.

On the course you will learn about the role and responsibilities of a first aider, how to assess an incident, how to manage casualties who are unconscious, including CPR and AED for those not breathing normally, how to manage bleeding, burns and scalds, fractures and injuries as well as how to recognise and manage a casualty suffering from a major illness e.g. Asthma attack, Seizures. 

This course will provide the learner with a recognised Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification, which is accredited by Ofqual and is valid for 3 years.  The learner will also receive an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certificate valid for two years.

 The course will run from 9am – 5pm on 25th January, 1st and 8th February 2017.  The First Aid at Work Course including AED requires a minimum of 19.5 hours (3 days) training and requires 100% attendance.
