Cameron's Blog: Christmas Movie & TV Wish List

By Megan 08 Dec 2017

I pondered on what I should do my final blog of the semester on. I thought about the greatest Christmas films but it seems to be a debate that comes up every year at this time. So I have decided to offer some advice on some good TV & Movies that would be the ideal stocking filler. As we are students I have chosen films £5 and under unless otherwise stated. Hopefully this will give you some inspiration if you are struggling for ideas.

The Jungle Book
Everyone knows the story of the Jungle Book. But Jon Favreau raised the game when he released a live action film last year. Starring Bill Murray, Christopher Walken and Ben Kingsley to name a few, this movie is a great movie for all the family.

BBC Great Comedy Moments
Showcasing more than 40 clips this DVD has some of the greatest comedy scenes ever created on the BBC on here. With many “classics” on here this one is a must have for your Mum or Dad

La La Land
Arguably the movie of the year, La La Land captivated audiences with it’s unique storytelling and homage to movies such as Singing in the Rain. For less than a fiver this is surely a bargain.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople
One of the funniest movies made, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a hilarious, warm story about a grumpy old man, played by Sam Neil, and his adopted son who have to survive in the Australian “bush” whilst on the run from the police.

Attenborough 60 years in the Wild
Planet Earth II and Blue Planet have had the nation gripped over the last year or so. And what better than hearing more stories from the man who voices both shows – David Attenborough.

Still open All Hours Series 1
One for your parents, maybe even your grandparents. Open All Hours is back after 28 years. This six part series together with the original 2013 Christmas special sees Sir David Jason reprise his role as Granville who has inherited the corner shop from his Uncle Arkwright.
