Accommodation

Typical day as an RA

By vanessara 14 Feb 2017

Ever wondered what Residential Advisors do on a typical day? Here's a brief description of a typical day as a Residential Advisor...

6pm

I went to Drop-in, this is a free hour in which two RA's will sit in a private room in reception, so that any students who have concerns of any matter can come and discuss with us confidentially and with ease. Or if you'd like to come for a chat,  just come along!

7pm

Visit my students in various flats. Make sure everyone is well and listen to concerns they may have. Give advice and help, as a fellow student.

9.30pm

Log details of my visits. Read up on particular concerns of students visited and act accordingly to try to address concerns.

6pm- 6am

On-Call: Take RA Phone and key so that I can be easily contacted throughout the night and have access in cases of emergency.

We are always here to help! So feel free to come to a Drop-in session (every night 6pm-7pm) or simply see your Residential Advisor when they come knocking on their weekly visit!
