Third term: Preparing for exams

By vanessara 15 Mar 2017

Third term can be extremely difficult as many of you will have several assignments and coursework hand-ins, as well as your end of year exams. Here are some tips on how you can cope with the heavy workload AND how not to burn yourself out before summer!

1)TIME

Make the most of all the time you have left and try to make use of Easter holidays. Make a timetable and write down targets for how much work you hope to have competed by certain times in order to ensure you have covered all the topics you need to for the exam ( likewise for courswork and assignments). Creating a timeline can be useful to remind yourself of your targets for each week.

2) ADVICE

Seek advice when you feel that you could benefit form talking to someone, whether that is your course mate or your personal tutor. Don't forget you can also see your student support officer to talk about any issues you may have regarding your studies.

General advice and skills workshop sessions: The Career and Employability Hub located in the business school often organise study skills sessions like Essay writing, Referencing, Plagiarism, Exam tips and more.

3) BREAKS

Plan breaks into your timetable, ensure you also have time to relax and take your mind of things.  Tiring yourself out with too much revision or writing can be very overwhelming, having breaks gives you points in the day to look forward to and evens out time staring at the screen.
