Things to do for FREE in Manchester

By BzBarlow 12 Jul 2016

There's so much stuff to do and see in Manchester, the list is endless! Did you know, though, there are plenty of things you can do all for FREE?

  • The National Football Museum
One of the things Manchester is famous for is its footie. So, it only seems right to have a museum dedicated to the game! Open daily, it's free and definitely worth a look around.
  • Afflecks Palace
Spend an afternoon getting lost in a maze of eclectic and indie shops. Located in the Northern Quarter, this quirky shopping emporium is nothing like you've ever seen before.
Top Tip: They sell a huge range of film/tv/music posters for great prices!
  • Exchange Square
On the rare occasion the sun comes out, Exchange Square is a great place to enjoy a spot of lunch, people watch or catch something on the big screen.
  • Heaton Park
Outside of the city centre, Heaton Park is the biggest park in the North West. Enjoy a picnic in the sun or join in the ParkRun every Saturday morning. It also hosts the very popular Parklife festival every year!
  • City Walks
The best way to see what Manchester has to offer is by foot! Wander around the city to discover canals, a Roman fort, Bridgewater Hall, the Museum of Science and Industry and many more hidden gems.
Top Tip: Keep your eyes open for the amazing street art!

It's time to get exploring! What will your favourite spot be?
