The sound of Manchester

By BzBarlow 12 Jul 2016

Manchester has always had an impressive music scene. Donning bands such as The Bee Gees, The Smiths and Oasis, it's distinctive sound can be found all across the city.

If you fancy a night of good company and great music, here's just a handful of venues worth checking out...

Soup Kitchen
The canteen/bar/music venue found in the Northern Quarter has it all. It's not just the food and drink that's impressive, downstairs you will find some of the best underground dance music which occasionally runs until 6am.

Bridgewater Hall
For a change of pace, see some spectacular concerts at the stunning Bridgewater Hall. Home of Hallé Orchestra and frequently hosting the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, you're guaranteed a sophisticated night out.

O2 Apollo
You will always find a wide range of artists, bands and comedians performing at the Apollo. This smaller sized venue lets you experience your favourite acts in a more intimate setting.

Manchester Arena
With the highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the UK (21,000) this hosts some of the biggest names in music as well top comedians and huge sporting events.

Manchester Academy
If you're a music goer that loves mosh pits, hoarding gig tickets, and sticking them on your bedroom wall then Manchester Academy is perfect for you!

This is just a taster of the huge choice of music venues you will find across Manchester. Get out and discover some more for yourself!
