Get involved and see how much you can save!
National Student Money Week is a national event created and supported by the National Association of Student Money Advisors. During the week universities, colleges and students’ union host activities and raise awareness about student finance.
Students always say that one of their main concerns about being at university is the cost of accommodation. The cost of rent can be one of the biggest expenses students need to meet and with the price of utilities, food and other household costs constantly on the rise, students are finding it more difficult than ever to afford the cost of living.
With this in mind, the theme of this year’s National Student Money Week is ‘Where I Live’. Whether it’s being smart with your choice of accommodation, reviewing your household bills or shopping around for the cheapest prices, we want to get you thinking about how you could save money.
During National Student Money Week (12th – 16th February), keep an eye out on the University’s twitter for some useful money saving tips. Why not get involved and help out your fellow students by sharing your own tried and tested tips too? Don’t forget to tag @ManMetUni and use the hashtag #NSMW18 in your tweets.
Our Student Financial Support team will also be out across the Manchester campus with top tips to save money during 19th-23th February. Head down to one of their stands for games, freebies and information on the services and support available to students. You can also enter a prize draw and be in with a chance of winning a £50 Amazon voucher!
