Accommodation

Got any spare change?

By AdamResLife 13 Oct 2017

The news has been highlighting the rise in mental health issues across society for a few years now. At the same time, funding for Mental Health support continues to be cut, placing more and more pressure on charitable organisations to support those across the country struggling with their mental health.

Manchester Mind are one of these charities, supporting people across the city to cope with mental health difficulties, build resilience and build support networks. In addition, they raise awareness of the issues which affect many in our community.

In this academic year, Student Living are supporting Manchester Mind with our Change 4 Change campaign. The charity has been chosen by members of staff across the department and now we need the help of our residents.

There are a number of ways you can get involved; as the campaign name suggests, even the smallest amount of change creates massive change in the lives of others. You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Attend events run by Residential Life / Residential Advisors - we will be collecting money at all events we run this year.
  • Make a donation at your accommodation reception - if you live at Daisy Bank, Booth or Wilmott Student Living, we have collection tins in the reception.
  • Text your donation - You can text KHVP55 and your amount (£1/£2/£3/£4/£5/£10) to 70070.
  • Donate online - you can donate directly via our JustGiving page.

Thank you in advance for any support you can provide!
