Student Volunteering Week at the Guild

By eknowles 12 Feb 2018

Student Volunteering Week (SVW) is a nationwide celebration of student volunteering, which has traditionally taken place each February.

SVW has been running for seventeen years and aims to ‘spotlight the amazing work of student volunteers in the UK, build collaborative networks, have fun, and inspire more and more students to give volunteering a try!'.

Student Volunteering Week 2018 is themed around 'Student Civic Engagement'  and how student volunteering benefits this in the following ways:

  1.  Improves student wellbeing
  2. Develops students' employability
  3. Contributes positively to civic life on and off campus

This year the Guild will be showcasing the amazing volunteering our students engage in regularly by showcasing micro-volunteering on the Guild's internal street each day, providing one off opportunities, free training and having volunteers take over our twitter for the week.
