On Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th March members of the Student Switch Off team will be visiting all halls kitchens to audit the recycling facilities.
Each kitchen will be given scores for how well they’ve separated their waste into the recycling, general waste and glass bins. Everyone will be left a feedback card and those who’ve done a good job will be left some Fairtrade chocolate! All the scores will be added into the overall Student Switch Off leaderboard.
You can see what should go in which bin here, and there should be some information in your kitchen too. Recycling is really important – it saves resources, prevents waste from damaging our natural environment and reduces the carbon footprint of the university. Help us create a more sustainable place to live and study by recycling wherever you can in your halls!
In order for the auditors to give your kitchen a score, there must be waste in your bins to audit, so the bins will not be emptied on the morning of the audit. Please try to keep the area as clean and tidy as possible.
