ELC - Packing up for Uni - Crown Place

Wondering what to bring with you when you move into Crown Place this summer?

Here's our handy guide to what's provided and what you need to bring with you...



BEDROOM

What's in my room?

  • Bed 
  • Wardrobe (with hanging rail and shelving)
  • Long mirror (inside your wardrobe)
  • Desk chair
  • Desk with drawer
  • Shelves over desk
  • Noticeboard
  • Waste bin in bedroom and sanitary bin in ensuite bathroom

What else is provided?

  • We'll also be providing a bedding pack so you'll have a duvet and pillow (plus covers), sheet and towel.

However, if it has been communicated to you that you are a combined contract student, these items will not be provided due to your intended longer stay. You can purchase a bedding pack here.

Other things you might want to bring or buy after you arrive...

  • Bathmat
  • Photos etc to personalise your room

Remember that we don’t allow fairy lights or candles in bedrooms so it’s best not to bring these with you.



KITCHEN

What's in my kitchen?

  • Oven
  • Hob
  • Microwave
  • Toaster
  • Kettle
  • Fridge freezer
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Iron and ironing board

DO NOT BRING RICE COOKERS AS YOU CAN BUY THESE HERE IN THE UK - ALL KITCHEN EQUIPMENT MUST BE UP TO UK SAFETY STANDARDS

What else is provided?

  • You'll get an individual kitchen pack with some cutlery, a plate, a mug, a bowl, a glass.
  • In the kitchen there will be some cooking equipment provided too - pans, kitchen knives, cooking utensils, openers, chopping board etc. It is worth seeing what is provided on arrival before deciding if you need anything else.

If it has been communicated to you that you are a combined contract student you will not be provided with a kitchen pack or cooking equipment, due to your indented longer stay. You can purchase a kitchen kit here.

Go for the budget options when picking things like crockery etc as things can often get broken.
