Important information for Carnatic and Greenbank Student Villages
Arriva staff are planning to take further industrial action during December on the following dates:
- Monday, 4 December
- Thursday, 7 December
- PLEASE NOTE: As of 11/12/2017, the dates below are under review and a strike may not go ahead. For the latest updates please check the Merseytravel website. -
- Wednesday, 13 December
- Thursday, 14 December
- Wednesday, 20 December
- Thursday, 21 December
- Friday, 22 December
- Saturday, 23 December
The strikes planned for dates up to an including 14th December will affect the 699 service which is timetabled to run until the end of term. Other buses operated by Arriva within Merseyside will also be affected on all the above dates and buses will not be operating.
Alternative bus routes from other providers that run close to the Halls include the 86 service which operates along Smithdown Road, passing near to South Campus on the way to the city centre. For details of times and other bus services visit Merseytravel.
Please note, some services on the bus network are part of the Quality Bus Network – a partnership between Merseytravel, bus operators and the local councils. This includes the 86 service. Normal ticket acceptance will apply on the Quality Bus Network and more details can be found here.
For those considering cycling, University students receive a Citybike discount.
Mossley Hill train station is also in close proximity to the Halls and Northern operate a service which runs from Mossley Hill station to Liverpool Lime Street. Pre-paid Arriva tickets can be used on the Northern rail network. For Northern’s train times, please visit the Northern Railway website.
