5 Cycling Routes You Should Try

By BzBarlow 10 Jun 2017

Whether you're a beginner or you are pegged to be the next Bradley Wiggins, there is a cycle route for everybody. Check out where you can set those wheels in motion...

  1. Coed Llandegla Forest (North Wales)

They have four main trails: Green, Blue, Red and Black which differ for the various skills of the cyclist. You can start on the beginner Green Trail or conquer the Advanced Black Trail - which is very physically demanding in comparison!

You can also rent a bike for the day if you don’t have your own to battle the trials of the trails.

  2. Fort William (Scotland)

This route has various trails for all ages and experience! With an “unending forest track to explore” it’s a perfect day out! From the beautiful scenery to the “world class” downhill, this seems like the place to be.

  3. Dalby Forest (Yorkshire)

Following a similar pattern to Coed Llandegla, Dalby Forest has four main trails, where Green is easy, Blue is moderate, Red is difficult and Black is severe. There is also a bike park where cyclists can work on their technical skills.

  4. Surrey Hills

The route runs from Farnham to Oxted to Low Weald. This is a great route for cycling as it’s a relatively quiet route with beautiful surroundings. You also go through Box Hill and Dorking Gap on your way and there is an event every October along this route too!

And last, but certainly not the least:

  5. The Yorkshire Dales

Home of the Tour de Yorkshire and a spectacular place to explore, the Yorkshire Dales is a great place to go cycling. There is also a range of routes within the Yorkshire Dales, you could have a ride along a softer, flatter road in the countryside or try some more adventurous climbs and roads!
