National Random Acts of Kindness Day 2021
Have you ever found yourself feeling fuzzy and warm when watching a video of a stranger performing a random act of kindness for someone else? (Their reactions are my favourite part!) Well, on Wednesday 17th February 2021, it’s National Random Acts of Kindness Day, so this gives us plenty more reason to do random acts of kindness too! We don’t have to give hundreds of pounds of cash out, but we can do anything small to just put a smile on someone else’s face. If you are struggling with coming up with ideas, here are a few ideas I have compiled…
Give a one-off (or continuous) donation to charity
It doesn’t matter how big or small your donation is but choose a charity of your choice and pay a contribution. A little goes a long way and you will feel good about it too…
Compliment the first three people you talk to.
This can be in person or online. It can also be a compliment about something you like about them, or a physical characteristic. Be creative!
Send a thank you email
Enjoying your lecturers, or appreciate your manager at work? Whoever it is, send a thank you email to let them know you acknowledge their hard work and effort and you are grateful for them. I’m sure it’ll mean more than you know!
Spread positivity on social media.
It’s safe to say most of us are on social media. So why not put up a positive post or share the love on your family and friend’s posts and stories!
Tell someone how great they are
Set an alarm to go off a set number of times on World Kindness Day. When the alarm sounds, stop what you're doing and choose someone to tell them how great they are. If it’s paying a compliment to a stranger on the street, telling your loved one how much they mean to you, or calling your parents – just do it!
Don’t forget yourself!
Schedule some time for yourself! If this means spending a few hours reading a great book or making some time for another activity you love. Being kind to yourself will give you the energy and strength to be kind to others! However you decide to partake in National Random Acts of Kindness Day, let us know and tag us on Instagram at @reslife_covuni
