Have you set up a student bank account yet?

By bzbeth 26 Jul 2018

It's no secret that having a student bank account will make life a LOT easier at university...

That's why it's important to get the best one!

Some student accounts offer deals and freebies, which is amazing, but you focus needs to be on the account that is best for you. You need to carefully consider what each bank/account offers and shop around to help you decide.

Have you looked at MoneySavingExpert.com before? It has all the best student accounts in one place and compares them so you know exactly what you're getting and how it's suited to you.

Here are some of the best offers:

We recommend that you get an overdraft that suits you but always budget your loan/income so that you don't always depend on your overdraft.

When you've decided which student account you want to open, there are a few things you will need to do so:

  • One or two forms of ID
This will be your passport and/or drivers licence.
  • Proof of your address
A recent bank statement or utility bill. We suggest that is your home address, not your student accommodation.
  • Proof of your student status
This could be a letter of acceptance from Coventry University or a UCAS offer letter.

If you need any other advice, you can look at your chosen bank's website or simply pop into your nearest branch.
