5 cycling routes you need to try this summer!

By bzbeth 09 Jun 2018

It's National Bike Week and it's a perfect time for it!

Whether you're a beginner or feel like you could be the next Bradley Wiggins, there is a cycle route for everybody.

Check out where you can set those wheels in motion in Coventry and beyond!

  1. Coventry
First things first, explore the places closest to you! Routes start from 1 mile to 20 miles depending on how skilled and fit you are. If you're staying here over summer or you're from Coventry, it's time to go exploring...
  2. Fort William (Scotland)
This route has various trails for all ages and experience! With an 'unending forest track to explore' it’s a perfect day out! From the beautiful scenery to the world-class downhill, this seems like the place to be.

  3. Coed Llandegla Forest (North Wales)
They have four main trails: Green, Blue, Red and Black which differ for the various skills of the cyclist. You can start on the beginner Green Trail or conquer the Advanced Black Trail - you can also rent a bike for the day if you don’t have your own!
  4. The Yorkshire Dales
Home of the Tour de Yorkshire and a spectacular place to explore, the Yorkshire Dales is perfect for cycling. There is also a range of routes within the Yorkshire Dales - you could have a ride along a softer, flatter road in the countryside or try some more adventurous climbs and roads!

  5. Surrey Hills
The route runs from Farnham to Oxted to Low Weald - great for cycling as it’s a relatively quiet route with beautiful surroundings. You also go through Box Hill and Dorking Gap on your way. What else could you want?

So get your helmet on and go on an adventure!
